Course Outline:
This course introduces the power of snippets in 12d through the graphical user interface Snippet Components panel. Snippets dramatically improve design efficiency and flexibility compared to traditional methods.
Course Overview:
In this course you will:
· Gain understanding of the specific roles and interactions between the MTF Snippet Apply, Snippet Manager, and the Snippet Components options to rapidly generate snippets and multiple Apply MTF Functions based on reference strings, an MTF seed file, and snippet parameters.
· Construct a complete road snippet from scratch, assembling familiar MTF commands and custom snippet components to generate the road surface, table drains, batter benching, pavement layers, and design elements directly from a cross-section.
· Master the practical differences between Parameters, Tokens, and Link Variables, learning exactly when and how to apply them.
· Customise chainages for longitudinal modifications and implement conditional logic to isolate asset placement, such as applying a W-Beam or a nested snippet to a single side of a design.
· Construct complex sub-layers using various tools while learning advanced techniques, including the use of automatic row parameters, to handle and resolve layer conflicts.
· Retrieve existing project attributes from within a snippet using automatic parameters, and publish custom string, polymesh, and vertex attributes to your finished design elements to support BIM compliance.
· Secure and protect your intellectual property through snippet encryption using application commands, alongside mastering structured workspace techniques, parsing logs, and MTF flattening for debugging snippet errors.
